Health & Guarantee

Spread the love

We ensure that our birds are free from any signs of illness or parasites at the time of sale, and that they are in perfect health. This means the birds are not infected with any viruses, harmful bacteria, fungi, or have any inherited health issues.

Breeder Health Guarantee
All birds are covered by a 72-hour limited health guarantee. If the bird is found to be unhealthy at the time of sale, we will either replace it with a similar bird or provide a full refund of the purchase price, provided proof of the bird’s unhealthiness is given. Once the bird leaves our home, we cannot control the conditions it may face, so we can only guarantee its health for the first 72 hours. If an avian veterinarian examines the bird within this period and finds a condition that is too expensive to treat or cannot be cured, we will replace the bird or buy it back. To do this, you must return the bird to us with a letter from the vet explaining the issue. The letter must be on the vet’s official letterhead with a rubber stamp seal. We will then either replace the bird or issue a full refund.

If the bird dies within 72 hours of purchase, you must immediately refrigerate (without freezing) the bird’s body in a sealed plastic bag and deliver it to a qualified avian veterinarian within 12 hours for a necropsy to determine the cause of death.
If the necropsy shows the death was due to a virus or a congenital defect, we will replace the bird or offer a full refund. The vet’s letter must be on official letterhead with a rubber stamp seal. Before any refund can be processed, we will need to see photos and a video of the deceased bird, along with its identification band.

The seller will not be responsible for any veterinarian costs, including the necropsy or shipping fees, if the bird was shipped to you.
Furthermore, if the leg band is removed from the bird, the health guarantee becomes invalid. The veterinarian must include the band number and the reason for the removal when explaining any illness or cause of death.

Guarantee
The health of the bird is guaranteed for three days, with an examination by an AVIAN CERTIFIED veterinarian at the buyer’s discretion and expense. If the bird is found to be unhealthy and a written document from a licensed, AVIAN CERTIFIED veterinarian is provided, the buyer must return the bird to the breeder and receive a full refund of the purchase price. The documentation must include the band number and the species. The breeder is not responsible for any expenses the buyer incurs during this time or for returning the bird.

In the unlikely event the bird dies within twelve (12) days of being delivered to the buyer, it must be wrapped in paper towels, placed in a plastic bag, and refrigerated (not frozen) until a necropsy can be performed by a qualified, licensed avian veterinarian within 72 hours after death. All reports must be sent to our veterinarian and should include the band number and species. If the necropsy confirms the bird died due to an issue that existed before the sale, we will offer a replacement from the next available clutch of the original species. The cost of the necropsy will be covered by the buyer. The breeder is not responsible for any other expenses and takes no responsibility for problems in other birds, as per clause 3(a), which requires the bird to be quarantined, a responsibility the buyer must take on.

The guarantee is void if the following requirements are not met:

The bird must be kept in quarantine away from all other birds, and an examination by an Avian Certified Veterinarian must be conducted within 24 hours of possession. If you currently have other birds or have had them in the same environment within the past year, you must provide documentation of their health and medical history. This is because many viruses can remain in the environment for many months even after an infected bird is removed.
